Dining Pick of the Week: Giada’s Italian Cucina

Giada’s Italian Cucina

2540 Anthem Village Drive at South Eastern Avenue; 702-462-9830

Giada’s owner Daniel Convertino had a successful restaurant when he learned that some people eat late — really late. So he added home delivery until 1 a.m., and things are really jumping. Begin your meal with appetizers including eggplant and ricotta cheese stack, fried ravioli or fries with assorted dipping sauces. Salads include antipasta with roasted peppers, artichokes, tomatoes, Kalamata olives, prosciutto di parma, salami, red onions and mozzarella with homemade Italian dressing. Dinners include angel hair with meatballs, lasagna, Chicken Parmesan, Chicken Convertino (boneless chicken breast rolled with fresh asparagus and mozzarella with Marsala mushroom sauce over penne), Seafood Giada (shrimp, mussels, clams, scallops and squid tossed in light tomato sauce over fettuccine), stuffed eggplant and spicy penne ala puttanesca with black Kalamata olives, capers, cherry tomatoes and anchovies. Popular sandwiches are steak or chicken Philly, chicken parmigiana and sausage and peppers. Among the pizzas are vegetarian, Mashed Potato with choice of two items and Giada’s Special with choice of five items. Several desserts are available including lemon cake, mini cannoli and Chocolate Chocolate Cake. Happy hour is daily from 4 to 7 p.m. Dinners begin at $9. Giada’s is open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 4 to 10 p.m. Sunday.
