Literary Las Vegas

Las Vegas writer Teresa Lynne Perry grew up loving fairy tales and English literature. While pursing a degree in English, she explored that love further. She spent a summer in London studying Shakespeare and Chaucer. During her trip to London, she researched and came up with a storyline for "King Joseph's Tale," which she followed up with "King Joseph's Tale Book II: A City Under Siege."

The story follows the adventures of King Joseph, a hero who defended England against the French.

Excerpt from "King Joseph's Tale Book II: A City Under Siege"

Antonio tiptoes into the campsite. His eyes widen as he assesses the destruction. Clothes and bags have been ripped into pieces as if someone had been impatiently looking for something. Empty bags that once contained meat and fruits from the villages are scattered about. All the campers' belongings are scattered all over the ground; nothing is in its proper place. As Antonio begins to walk slowly toward the destruction, grapes squash under his feet. "It's a bear! What's a bear doing in Piccadilly Park?" he asks himself.

Antonio races to the waiting group in the forest, yelling as fast as he is running. "It's a bear! It's a bear!" he cries, clutching several items retrieved from the campsite.
