THANKSGIVING IN APRIL EVENT RENAMED
IN MEMORY OF MONSIGNOR PATRICK LEARY

Catholic Charities of Southern Nevada’s annual Thanksgiving in April event was recently rebranded as the Feast of Hope in honor of Monsignor Patrick Leary.

Leary is former CEO of the charity. He died in December.

The event, which provides more than 1,000 meals for homeless people annually, is scheduled for 11 a.m. Thursday at the St. Vincent Lied Dining Facility, 1502 N. Main St.

FRAMING HOPE EVENT
TO BENEFIT BOYS & GIRLS CLUB

Friends of the Downtown Las Vegas Boys & Girls Club plans to host its Framing Hope fundraiser and silent auction from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at The Amanda Harris Gallery of Contemporary Art, 900 Las Vegas Blvd. South.

Participants can bid on 30 vintage Las Vegas images from 30 artists, with proceeds benefiting the Downtown Las Vegas Boys & Girls Club.

NEON MUSEUM TO HOST OPEN HOUSE
FOR PROSPECTIVE VOLUNTEERS

The Neon Museum, 770 Las Vegas Blvd. North, plans to host an informational open house for prospective volunteers from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday .

Interested individuals can talk to staff members and volunteers to learn about the volunteer positions available, including docent (tour guide), special events host, greeter and administration.

SOUTHWEST GAS TO TEACH
SENIORS TO SAVE MONEY

The Lieburn Senior Center, 6230 Garwood Ave., plans to educate seniors on energy-saving programs in partnership with Southwest Gas Corp. at 1:30 p.m. Monday .

The event is free. Participants must be 50 or older and register by Thursday .

EVENT TO BENEFIT HOMELESS DOGS

The nonprofit A Home 4 Spot Animal Rescue is scheduled to host a Rockin’ Out for Canines fundraiser from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday at Tommy Rocker’s, 4275 Dean Martin Drive.

Las Vegas’ School of Rock is slated to provide live entertainment. Raffles and a silent auction are also planned.

Tickets cost $15 when purchased at ahome4spot.com or $20 at the door. Food and beverages are included with the ticket.

All proceeds will benefit A Home 4 Spot Animal Rescue, which provides foster care and medicine while seeking permanent homes for abandoned dogs.
