CITY OF LAS VEGAS GRANTS OFFERED
FOR NONPROFIT ORGANIZATIONS
Local nonprofit organizations are invited to apply for grant funding from the city of Las Vegas until 3 p.m. Nov. 22.
Organizations can apply for Housing Opportunities for Person with AIDS and Community Development Block Grants.
Funding and priority consideration are given to applications addressing homelessness prevention and outreach, intervention services with military veterans, men with children and women with children, a focus on seniors maintaining independence, people with special needs and youth programs focused on early childhood development and academic skills.

VALLEY SISTERS' 'HILLYWOOD SHOW'
DRAWS ATTENTION FROM LADY GAGA
Sisters and Las Vegas residents Hilly and Hannah Hindi, stars of the popular online production, "The Hillywood Show," are getting more notice from fans -- this time from pop singer Lady Gaga.
The Hindi sisters, who have received worldwide attention for their YouTube videos that usually parody popular movies and songs, premiered their video "Gagaween" last month. The video parodies the singer's numerous costumes from music videos and award shows while singing an originally written tune by the Hindi sisters. Lady Gaga posted the link on Twitter, where the pop star has more than 15 million followers.

LEARN TO GARDEN IN SMALL SPACES
DURING NOV. 19 WORKSHOP
The University of Nevada Cooperative Extension, 8050 Paradise Road, plans to host a workshop on gardening in small spaces from 8 a.m. to noon Nov. 19.
Angela O'Callaghan will teach attendees how to make the most of gardening in a small space, addressing topics such as insects eating plants, why it's difficult to grow tomatoes and more.
Those interested must register for the class and pay a $20 fee, which includes materials.

FRIDAY CLASS AT SUNRISE HOSPITAL
TO ADDRESS DIABETES MEDICATION
Sunrise Hospital & Medical Center is set to hold an adult outpatient diabetes class on medications from 9:30 to
11:30 a.m. Friday at 3101 S. Maryland Parkway, Suite 100.
Attendees will learn about the different types of medication therapy for those living with diabetes. Registration is required.

streats festival set to return Saturday
The El Cortez, 600 E. Fremont St., plans to host the monthly Vegas StrEATS festival on the Jackie Gaughn Parkway from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m. Saturday.

PLASTIC FOOD DRIVE TO AID NEVADA PARTNERSHIP FOR HOMELESS YOUTH
The Nevada Partnership for Homeless Youth, 4981 Shirley St., plans to host its fifth annual Plastic Food Drive through Nov. 23.
Those willing to donate are encouraged to purchase $10 gift cards from grocery stores, restaurants or fast-food chains that will be given to more than 300 teenagers in need on Thanksgiving Day.
Donations will be taken at the facility from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Online donations can be made at nevadahomelessyouth.org.

PLANS FREE BINGO SESSION
