Driver crashes vehicle into Las Vegas patrol car

A Las Vegas police officer is being treated for what appears to be minor injuries after a vehicle crashed into his patrol car Wednesday afternoon.

The intersection of Tropicana Avenue and Grand Canyon Drive is closed while officers investigate what led to the 2 p.m. crash, Las Vegas police said.

The driver of the vehicle that hit the police unit continued driving down the street, then parked and attempted to flee on foot, witnesses told police. The man is now in custody and may be treated for minor injuries, police said. What charges the driver could face are not clear, as police are still investigating the incident.
