Flash flood watch issued for Las Vegas Valley

A flash flood watch is in effect until 8 p.m. for the Las Vegas valley, along with portions of California, Arizona and Utah.

The tropical moisture moving up from the Baja Peninsula gives the valley a 30 percent chance of rain Saturday and a high of only 99 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.

The flood watch includes the valley, Spring Mountains, Lake Mead National Recreation Area and Red Rock Canyon.

The temperature hadn’t reached 80 degrees yet at about 8 a.m., with a relative humidity of 50 percent.
