Heavy rain, flooding hit Las Vegas Valley on Sunday

The Las Vegas valley was pounded by nearly two inches of rain on Sunday afternoon, according to the National Weather Service.

The western part of the valley experienced the hardest of the storm as stalled vehicles could be seen in the area of Interstate 215 southbound and Flamingo Road where Regional Transportation Commission had reported flooded roadways.

Pahrump was hit the most by the storm with 2.45 inches.

The flood watch was in effect until 3 p.m. on Sunday and included the northwest deserts and northwest plateau in northwest Arizona as well as the eastern Mojave Desert in California.
