Updated May 11, 2024 - 11:39 am

A motorist died when his car ran into a block wall of a residence in the west valley Friday evening.

A black 2016 Chevrolet Impala was southbound on South Jones Boulevard at a high rate of speed about 8:15 when it lost control and crashed into a cinder block wall and rolled over near West Cromwell Circle, according to a Metropolitan Police Department preliminary report.

The Impala then flipped onto its roof, partially ejecting the unrestrained driver. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The Clark County coroner’s office will release the name of the driver and cause of death after relatives have been notified.

Metro said it was the 64th traffic-related fatality in its jurisdiction this year.
