Las Vegas man, 41, dies after crashing motorcycle into post

A 41-year-old Las Vegas man died Saturday night after crashing his motorcycle into a light post in the east valley, Las Vegas police said Sunday.

Police said the incident occurred about 9:45 p.m. near Hollywood Boulevard and Access Road, near Charleston Boulevard.

The man was riding a 1982 Suzuki north on Hollywood at a high rate of speed and his motorcycle struck a curb south of Access, police said.

He lost control, the Suzuki slid and hit a street pole, and he was thrown from the motorcycle. He was pronounced dead at University Medical Center.

It was the 17th traffic fatality under the jurisdiction of Las Vegas police.
