Las Vegas officer injured in collision

A motorcycle officer was hospitalized after striking a sport utility vehicle in the north valley Sunday evening, Las Vegas police said.

Lt. Ted Snodgrass said the collision occurred near Craig Road and Decatur Boulevard.

The identity of the officer was not released.

Snodgrass said the officer was involved in traffic enforcement when he struck the front driver's side of a Chevrolet Suburban.

Snodgrass said he didn't know who was at fault.

Snodgrass didn't know the extent of the officer's injuries but said the officer was taken to University Medical Center.
