Las Vegas police involved in central valley standoff

Las Vegas police were investigating an officer-involved shooting that became a prolonged standoff Sunday near Charleston Boulevard and Fremont Street .

The shooting occurred Sunday afternoon on the 2800 block of East Charleston. There were reports of a man who barricaded himself inside an apartment at the Sedona Hills complex. Police, possibly SWAT members, were stationed on nearby rooftops.

As of 6:45 p.m., police said no fatalities had occurred.

Police did not return calls for updates on the standoff late Sunday.
