Man found dead at bottom of pool in east valley

A man was found dead Sunday afternoon at the bottom of a residential pool in the east valley, Las Vegas police said.

Lt. Ted Snodgrass said police received the call about the deceased man about 3:48 p.m. at a home on the 2300 block of Abarth Street, near Nellis Boulevard and Sahara Avenue.

The identity of the man who was in his 50s was not released.

Snodgrass said the man appeared to have been at the bottom of the pool for at least several hours.

He said detectives with the Metropolitan Police Department's Violent Crimes Section were investigating.

Snodgrass said the deceased man did not live at the home, and the residents didn't know him. Snodgrass said the residents were cooperating with police.

Snodgrass added that the man's body didn't appear to have any trauma and no signs of a struggle were found. The pool was fenced, he said.
