Metropark closing four stores on Strip

Metropark, a seller of men's and women's clothing and accessories, said it is closing its 69 stores nationwide, four of which are on the Strip.

In a statement, Metropark said it began closing sales Thursday; merchandise will sell at 20 percent to 40 percent off until all is sold. Metropark said its stores will honor gift cards throughout the sale but that sales from here forward are final. Gordon Bros. Group and Hilco Merchant Resources are running the sales.

The Southern Nevada Metropark stores are at the Fashion Show mall, 3200 Las Vegas Blvd. South; the Miracle Mile Shops, 3663 Las Vegas Blvd. South; Town Square, 6551 Las Vegas Blvd. South; and Mandalay Place, 3930 Las Vegas Blvd. South.

Gordon Bros., the company's point of contact, did not return a call about how many workers the closings will displace. Metropark's website listed no contact information Friday. The "about us" page was missing; the site's main page listed news of the sales but nothing else.
