Motorcyclist dies after colliding with vehicle in northwest valley

A motorcyclist died after colliding with a vehicle in the intersection of Torrey Pines Drive and Alexander Road just before noon Sunday.

Las Vegas police said the operator of a Honda motorcycle heading west on Alexander Road struck a 2004 Kia minivan driven by Judith Michaels, 68.

Michaels, police said, was traveling north on Torrey Pines. She entered the intersection after stopping at a traffic sign. The unidentified motorcyclist lost control of the Honda before striking the Kia, according to police.

He was pronounced dead by medical personnel at University Medical Center.

Michaels and her two passengers, Mary Roussos, 94, and Lorraine Ferrara, 66, were not injured in the accident, which occurred in a residential area.
