Motorcyclist dies after crash with vehicle in western Las Vegas

Updated December 10, 2020 - 6:06 pm

A motorcyclist was killed during a crash Thursday morning in the west Las Vegas Valley, police said.

Officers were called to the crash about 11:40 a.m. near the intersection of Sahara Avenue and Monte Cristo Way, east of Buffalo Drive, the Metropolitan Police Department said.

Investigators believe a 2016 Kawasaki motorcycle struck a 1994 Honda Accord, ejecting the rider, who then struck a pole.

The driver of the Honda, a 71-year-old Las Vegas man, stayed on the scene, and impairment was not suspected.

The motorcyclist, a 35-year-old North Las Vegas man, was pronounced dead at University Medical Center, police said. The Clark County coroner’s office will identify the victim.
