Updated May 12, 2023 - 10:52 am

A motorcyclist died in a crash early Friday morning over Interstate 15 in Las Vegas.

In a statement, the Nevada Highway Patrol said the crash happened at 12:40 a.m. at the intersection of Blue Diamond Road over I-15 on the eastbound side.

Highway patrol wrote that a Harley Davidson motorcycle was driving east on Blue Diamond, nearing I-15 when the man ran through a red light.

“As the motorcycle failed to yield, a Subaru SUV was entering the intersection, making contact with the motorcycle,” highway patrol wrote.

The Clark County coroner’s office said Jeremy James Fischer, 50, of Las Vegas died at the scene.

The driver of the Subaru, a man, was taken to University Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. Troopers did not suspect the driver was impaired.

Blue Diamond was closed for several hours while officers investigated the crash.
