North Las Vegas police seek man in August business robberies

North Las Vegas police are asking for the public's help in finding a man involved in two robberies in early August.

About 12:30 p.m. Aug. 7, police were called to a convenience store in the 2700 block of East Lake Mead Boulevard, near Civic Center Drive, where witnesses said a man armed with a black handgun demanded cash from the register and fled with an undisclosed amount of money, police wrote in a release Wednesday afternoon.

About 1:15 p.m. the same day, officers were called to a small retail business in the 800 block of Lake Mead, about a mile from the first business, where witnesses relayed a similar story.

No one was hurt in either robbery, the release said.

The preliminary investigation indicates the two crimes were committed by the same man, police said in the release.

Police described the robber as about 5 feet 9 inches tall and 190 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. He was wearing a red baseball hat, a white v-neck shirt and blue jeans.
