One dies in two-vehicle collision on West Charleston

A 29-year-old driver died after a collision with a pickup early Sunday morning in the central valley, Las Vegas police said.

The identity of the deceased driver was not released. Police did not say whether the person who died was a man or a woman.

The collision, reported at 2:42 a.m., occurred at the intersection of Charleston Boulevard and Shadow Lane, police said. A driver in a 2007 Nissan Altima was eastbound on Charleston.

Tatiana Taylor of Las Vegas, driving a 1999 Ford F-150, was turning left onto southbound Shadow Lane from westbound Charleston. The front of the Altima struck the right front of the pickup. The driver of the Altima died at the scene.

Taylor, 23, was hospitalized and listed in serious condition.

Police said the crash marked the 93rd traffic fatality under the jurisdiction of Las Vegas police this year.

The crash remains under investigation.
