Wolfson recuses his office from Collins inquiry

Clark County District Attorney Steve Wolfson said Thursday he is recusing his office from an investigation into an illegal shooting allegedly involving County Commissioner Tom Collins.

Witness: Multiple shots fired from county commissioner’s property

At least seven gunshots were fired from Clark County Commissioner Tom Collins’ North Las Vegas property the night of July 3, according to a witness. The man said he heard two shots, and then five more were fired quickly in succession. Collins is under investigation by law enforcement for an “illegal shooting.”

Judge allows $1 million loan to fund Newton attraction to proceed

Wayne Newton’s relationship with estranged business partner Steven Kennedy has deteriorated to the point where they need a judge’s ruling to decide where to store hay for the horses. But a more serious issue emerged Tuesday at a court hearing over a $1 million to CSD LLC, which owns and is redeveloping the Casa de Shenandoah ranch that has been Newton’s longtime home.
