Pedestrian killed in Boulder Highway accident identified

A 73-year-old man struck and killed by a pickup on Boulder Highway early Wednesday has been identified as Thomas Clay, according to the Clark County coroner's office. Clay's hometown is unknown.

Clay, who was struck while crossing Boulder Highway at Warm Springs Road just after midnight, died from blunt force trauma caused by the truck. He was not in a crosswalk, police said.

While the accident is still under investigation, Henderson police said it does not appear that speed or alcohol were factors in the crash.

It was the fourth fatal accident in Henderson this year.
