Officers were called just after 5:30 p.m. to the intersection of West Cheyenne Avenue and North Grand Canyon Drive after a report of a crash involving a a truck and a pedestrian, according to a statement from the Metropolitan Police Department.

Investigators spoke to witnesses and reviewed footage, which police said showed the pedestrian run into the road outside the crosswalk and against traffic lights and be struck by a white 2019 Ford F-450.

The pedestrian, a man who was not carrying identification, died at University Medical Center within an hour of the crash.
