Motorcyclist, 20, killed in crash in southwest Las Vegas

A motorcyclist was killed in a crash Tuesday morning in the southwest Las Vegas Valley.

The crash occurred just after 6:30 a.m. at the intersection of South Durango and West Sunset roads, according to a Metropolitan Police Department release.

Police said that evidence at the scene, witness statements and video surveillance indicated that a 2007 Triumph Daytona 675 Sport Bike was northbound on Durango approaching Sunset in the left of three travel lanes. A 2012 Jeep Wrangler was southbound on Durango approaching Sunset, making a left turn to go east on a flashing yellow turn arrow.

Police said the front of the Triumph struck the right side of the Jeep.

The motorcyclist, identified by police as a 20-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Jeep remained at the scene and did not show signs of impairment, according to the release.
