Police investigate suspicious item in northeast Las Vegas

Updated June 18, 2020 - 10:35 pm

A main thoroughfare in northeast Las Vegas was closed Thursday morning as police investigated a report of a suspicious device.

About 9 a.m., Las Vegas police were called to an apartment on the 3900 block of North Nellis Boulevard, near Las Vegas Boulevard North, Sgt. Miguel Garcia said.

“Somebody called in that there was a suspicious item at an apartment complex,” Garcia said. “The officers are seeking additional information now.”

Nellis Boulevard was closed in both directions in the area for a while, and a Las Vegas police armored unit had been called to the scene.

No further information was immediately available.
