Police investigating death at MGM Grand

Las Vegas police are investigating the Tuesday death of an MGM Grand employee.

Police were called to the casino resort’s conference center at 1:45 p.m. An MGM spokesman said the worker fell from the building’s third floor. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration was notified.

“This is a difficult time and a devastating loss for our entire MGM team. The thoughts of our entire MGM team are with the family at this difficult time,” said Gordon Absher, vice president of public affairs for MGM Resorts International.

The worker has not yet been identified by the Clark County coroner’s office.

Someone who knew the worker said the man, who was in his 60s, was an audio-visual technician. He was working when a small utility truck began moving and pushed him through a window.

A broken window and a small, crashed truck were visible from the ground.
