Strong winds coming into valley

More strong winds are on the way for the Las Vegas Valley.

The National Weather Service has issued a high wind watch for the Spring Mountains and the valley on Saturday afternoon and evening. Expect sustained winds from the southwest at 40 mph, with gusts at 60 mph or higher.

The strongest winds are expected to begin on the east slopes of the Spring Mountains on Saturday afternoon and will spread into the western valley during the evening. The areas most likely to see strong winds include Red Rock Canyon, Summerlin, Mountains Edge and Blue Diamond.

The winds are part of a cold front that will move through Southern Nevada on Saturday night. The high temperature for the valley is expected to be 70 degrees for Sunday.
