Teen hit, critically injured by suspected drunk driver

A motorist suspected of driving drunk struck and critically injured a 15-year-old boy waiting at a bus stop just after 5 a.m. Sunday.

According to Las Vegas police, Noel Laredo, 26, was driving a 2005 Acura TSX west on Spring Mountain Road west of El Camino Road when she drove off the right side of the road and hit the bus shelter and the juvenile who was inside.

Police said the driver failed field sobriety tests and was arrested on a charge of DUI-alcohol with substantial bodily harm. The bus shelter was heavily damaged .

Neither the driver nor her passenger, 36-year-old Artemio Rios, was injured.
