Two-car collision kills one in southwest valley

A two-car collision killed one person near the intersection of the Las Vegas Beltway and Sunset Road in the southwest valley Tuesday afternoon, the Nevada Highway Patrol said.

The crash happened at 12:42 p.m., and included a white Lexus and a white Honda CRV. The person who died was in the Honda, Trooper Jeremie Elliot said. No other injuries were reported.

The section of Sunset where the collision occurred was closed and will remain so until an investigation is completed.
