Valley returns to normalcy after Tuesday’s wind storm

Gusts and dust diminished and airport operations were back to normal in Las Vegas, a day after a cold front brought winds clocked as high as 85 mph in Pahrump and 63 mph near the Strip.

Workers were repairing collapsed tents this morning at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, while homeowners remove uprooted trees and building managers repair office awnings.

No serious injuries or widespread damage are reported.

NV Energy said electricity was restored to almost all of the thousands of customers whose power went out during the Tuesday storm.

The American Red Cross helped one family forced out of their home after a tree crashed through their roof.

The National Weather Service said winds will continue Wednesday, with temperatures in the 50s.
