Woman, 82, killed in northwest valley traffic accident
An 82-year-old woman was killed Saturday morning after a crash in the northwest valley.
Las Vegas police said the accident happened about 10:45 a.m. at Cheyenne Avenue and Grand Canyon Drive.
A 1999 Dodge Durango driven by 21-year-old Andrew S. Portello collided with a 2001 Mercury Grand Marquis driven by the 82-year-old woman.
The truck ran a red light, police said.
Police said the woman died at a hospital.
The accident remains under investigation.
This was the 37th fatal accident in the Metropolitan Police Department's jurisdiction this year.
The Clark County coroner's office will release the woman's name after her family has been notified.
