RENO, Nev. — A 76-year-old California man has been found dead and the search for his two sons has been discontinued after their boat was found capsized in northern Nevada.
Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe emergency response coordinator Don Pelt tells the Reno Gazette-Journal that Fred Turner of Gold Run, California, and sons, Frank Turner and Bill Turner, failed to return home Monday.
Security officers found their truck trailer Tuesday parked at Pelican Point beach.
Pelt says the men were frequent fishermen at Pyramid Lake, but it appears they weren’t wearing life jackets. Pelt says the search for the sons has been discontinued.
Pelt says a Washoe County sheriff’s office helicopter found the dual outboard motor boat flipped over more than a mile offshore.
The Lake is about 50 miles north of Reno.
