Man killed in Pahrump crash involving pickup trucks

Updated March 20, 2025 - 2:39 pm

A man died in Pahrump on Tuesday afternoon after a crash involving two pickup trucks.

The crash occurred at the intersection of Pahrump Valley Highway and Rainbow Avenue around 4:17 p.m. when a 2001 Toyota Tacoma traveling south on the highway left the lane and crossed the path of a 2023 Dodge Ram pickup traveling north, the Nevada Highway Patrol said in a news release.

The Dodge driver attempted to steer away from the Toyota to avoid a crash, but was unsuccessful and was struck by the Toyota.

After the collision, the Toyota went left, rotated counterclockwise and entered the shoulder, while the Dodge went right and rotated clockwise into the shoulder, police said.

The Toyota driver died at the scene. Police said Tuesday that the Dodge driver was taken to an area hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
