Woman killed in rollover crash northeast of Las Vegas

A woman died after a Friday night single-vehicle rollover in Lincoln County, about 180 miles northeast of Las Vegas, the Nevada Highway Patrol said on Saturday.

A gray 2000 Chevrolet Silverado driven by a 56-year-old woman from Pioche rolled over while heading east on state Route 322, near mile marker 12 in Lincoln County, NHP said. The crash was reported at 9:46 p.m.

Trooper Loy Hixson said the woman lost control of the truck as she approached a curve in the roadway.

The woman, who was not wearing a seat belt, was thrown from the truck when it overturned, NHP said. The Silverado continued to roll and came to rest when it struck a tree.

She died at Grover C. Dils Medical Center, in Caliente, NHP said.

This marks Nevada Highway Patrol-Southern Command’s 41st fatal accident for this year.
