Coroner’s office IDs man who died in North Las Vegas fire

A man who died after a fire last week in North Las Vegas has been identified by the Clark County coroner’s office.

Freddie Lorenzo Jackson, 36, died Jan. 2 after what investigators called a squatter fire. North Las Vegas Fire Department personnel were called about 9 a.m. on that date to a vacant home on the 2000 block of Las Vegas Boulevard North, near East Lake Mead Boulevard.

A woman who was hospitalized in critical condition died the next morning from her injuries. She was previously identified as 32-year-old Amanda Geng.

The Las Vegas Fire Department is assisting the North Las Vegas Fire Department in the investigation.
