Man killed in crash in North Las Vegas; DUI suspect in custody

North Las Vegas police have arrested a DUI suspect in a fatal two-vehicle crash early Sunday morning.

About 6:45 a.m., police responded to a collision near Centennial Parkway and Losee Road, North Las Vegas police spokeswoman Ann Cavaricci said.

A Chrysler 300, driven by Alex Sadler, and a Volkswagen Tiguan collided near the intersection, sending three people to University Medical Center, Cavaricci said. The Volkswagen’s driver, who was 56, died at UMC; two other passengers in the vehicle had minor injuries.

“At this point, we believe the Chrysler 300 is at fault,” Cavaricci said.

The preliminary investigation indicates the Chrysler 300 was speeding west on Centennial Parkway and ran a red light. Investigators also believe Sadler was impaired, according to a police department release.

He was arrested and booked at the Las Vegas City Jail. He faces charges including DUI resulting in death, two counts of DUI with substantial bodily harm, and other traffic-related offenses.

The identity and cause and manner of death will be released by the Clark County coroner’s office.
