Motorcyclist killed after 2-vehicle crash in North Las Vegas

Updated April 23, 2024 - 6:44 pm

A motorcyclist was killed Tuesday morning after a crash with a pickup truck in North Las Vegas.

Police were called around 5 a.m. to the intersection of North Pecos Road and East Cheyenne Avenue, according to a North Las Vegas Police Department release.

Investigators say a 2009 Ford F150 was northbound on Pecos and attempting to turn left onto Cheyenne. During that time, a 1999 Suzuki motorcycle was southbound on Pecos and approaching Cheyenne in the No. 1 travel lane.

The Ford then made a left turn in front the motorcycle, causing the motorcycle to hit the pickup.

Medical personnel pronounced the motorcycle rider, a 52-year-old man, deceased.

Traffic officers continue to investigate this collision; however, impairment is not believed to be a factor.

The identification of the deceased, along with the cause and manner of death, will be released by the Clark County coroner’s office.

Anyone who may have information about this crash is urged to contact the North Las Vegas Police Department at 702-633-9111. To remain anonymous, contact Crime Stoppers at 702-385 -5555.
