North Las Vegas police investigate reported gunshots at apartments

Updated November 9, 2020 - 7:23 pm

North Las Vegas police were investigating a report of gunshots at an apartment complex on Monday.

Police spokesman Eric Leavitt said the department’s SWAT team was called to the Cheyenne Villas Apartments, 3260 Fountain Falls Way, around 12:30 p.m. in response to an illegal shooting that was initially reported around 9:30 a.m.

Leavitt said the shooting stemmed from a domestic disturbance. A man shot at a woman’s car multiple times before fleeing, Leavitt said.

“After a search warrant was executed by SWAT they found the suspect was not inside his apartment,” Leavitt said. “The public is not in any danger and the suspect is still outstanding.”

There were no fatalities or injuries reported in the shooting, and Leavitt could not provide a description of the suspect. No other information was immediately available.
