Pedestrian in critical condition after being hit by car in east Las Vegas

A pedestrian was in critical condition after she was hit by a car Monday evening while crossing a street in the east valley.

The 67-year-old woman was hit about 5:30 p.m. at the intersection of East Owens Avenue and Northwind Court, near North Nellis Boulevard, the Metropolitan Police Department said in a statement.

The statement said a 22-year-old woman, driving a 2010 Dodge Avenger east on Owens, hit the woman, who was crossing outside of a crosswalk.

The driver remained at the crash site, the statement said, and didn’t appear impaired. The pedestrian was taken to a hospital.
