Nonprofit theater group plans to grow Las Vegas’s arts scene

The auditions were the kickoff for the Las Vegas Theatre Alliance , a nonprofit advocacy group founded by Cockroach Theatre artistic director Mindy Woodhead . The alliance’s mission is to grow and expand community theater in the Las Vegas Valley through auditions, marketing and education.

Bonjour Bakery & Deli offers mix of European, Asian staples

The former home of Bonjour Euro Cafe was purchased in June by Las Vegas businesswoman Kristin Forsberg. The interior and menu received a makeover before the bakery opened in early August.

 
Springs Preserve teaching garden has courses for kids, adults

The preserve opened its teaching garden in early September, in the southeast corner of the 180-acre site. Classes have included a youth-gardening series for children 6 to 12 and a six-week series for adults.
