1 injured in 3-vehicle crash in Summerlin

One person has been injured in a three-vehicle crash Tuesday morning in Summerlin.

The crash occurred just after 6:50 a.m. in the area of Hualapai Way and Diablo Drive, according to the Metropolitan Police Department release.

Police said in a news release that a Tesla was driving south in the northbound lane on Hualapai Way when the car hit the left side of a Chevrolet. The Tesla then continued driving south in the northbound lane and hit a Honda on the left rear side.

The Tesla then rotated and went off the road where it hit several trees and a lightpole before stopping, police said.

The Tesla driver, a 29-year-old male, was taken to University Medical Center Trauma with injuries described as critical. Police said he showed signed of impairment.

Two passengers in the Chevrolet claimed injuries and the Honda driver had minor injuries, but no one in the cars hit were taken to the hospital, according to police.

The incident remains under investigation.
