Motorcyclist dies in North Las Vegas crash

Updated August 29, 2022 - 11:08 pm

A motorcyclist was killed in a crash in North Las Vegas on Monday night.

Police responded to Centennial Parkway and Fifth Street at about 7 p.m. when a motorcycle and car collided just west of the intersection.

A Nissan Altima pulled out of an apartment complex and on to Centennial, failing to yield to a motorcycle that was heading east, according to a text message from North Las Vegas police spokesman Alex Cuevas.

The motorcycle hit the Altima.

The motorcyclist was taken to University Medical Center where he died.

The Clark County coroner’s office Tuesday identified the motorcyclist as Marcus Perry, 23. He died of blunt force injuries of the head.

The driver of the Altima, a man believed to be in his 30s, stayed at the scene and was cooperative with investigators, Cuevas said.

The intersection remained closed late Monday night.

Impairment was not suspected of being a factor, police said.
