Pedestrian killed in hit-and-run accident
A pedestrian is dead after a hit-and-run accident near Torrey Pines Drive and Charleston Boulevard late Wednesday night.
According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, the pedestrian was crossing Torrey Pines Drive just north of Casada Way outside of a marked crosswalk at about 10:30 p.m.
The vehicle, described as a dark-colored midsize to large SUV, struck the pedestrian and continued north on Torrey Pines Drive without stopping.
This is the 23rd traffic-related fatality in Metro’s jurisdiction in 2013.
