ROAD ALERT: Beer festival to shut down some roads in downtown Las Vegas

Portions of Carson Avenue, Sixth, Seventh and Fremont streets in downtown Las Vegas will be closed Saturday for a one-day beer festival.

City officials said Wednesday that the city block surrounded by the four streets would be the site of the Great Vegas Beer Festival.

Streets will close at midnight Friday night and reopen at 11:30 p.m. Saturday.

More than 250 craft brews from more than 50 breweries are planned for the event, which runs from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tickets are available online or at the entrance at Sixth and Fremont streets for $40. Early entry tickets for admission at 3 p.m. are available for $50.

The weekend event will be the fourth time the festival is staged downtown.
