After cooler spell, Las Vegas’ warmer weather ‘flirting with normal’
After clouds and even a little rain kept July cooler, the end of the month is looking like it will be more typically Las Vegas: hot and sunny.
Valley skies were cloudless Friday, and the official high was 101 degrees, National Weather Service meteorologist Caleb Steele said. High temperatures now are "flirting with normal" for this time of year, which is about 104 degrees.
Saturday and Sunday will be pretty similar, Steele said. Both days are expected to have high temperatures of 102 and lows of 79.
The Weather Service is keeping an eye out for predicted winds late next week that could bring monsoonal moisture from the southeast, but it's too soon to make predictions, Steele said.
