St. Patrick’s Day brings winds, showers to Las Vegas Valley
It was a day to hold onto your green hats as strong winds, and even a few showers, swept through the Las Vegas Valley on St. Patrick’s Day.
Parts of the valley, including Summerlin and the southwest, saw some light showers after sunset. The valley also felt wind gusts up to 30 mph.
The National Weather Service says a high wind warning for Southern Nevada will last through 5 p.m. Tuesday as a low-pressure system moves through the region.
Winds will transition to the northwest overnight Monday into Tuesday. They will not be as strong but could cause some impacts, the NWS said.
For the rest of the week, skies will clear and temperatures will rise, hitting the 70s by the weekend.
