Flash flood watch issued for Las Vegas Valley

A flash flood watch has been issued for the valley through the weekend, according to the National Weather Service.

Chances of rain Friday were forecast at 60 percent, followed by a 40 percent chance Saturday and 60 percent Sunday. The flash flood watch is set to expire at 8 p.m. Sunday, which will likely see the heaviest rainfall.

The rain will usher in temperatures more like the norm for October: Las Vegas temperatures will be right on track with averages by the end of this weekend, according to the National Weather Service.

The temperature today will peak at 88 degrees, marking the beginning of a steady cool down.

Friday high temperatures will reach the mid-80s; Saturday, the low-80s; and Sunday, the upper-70s, meteorologist Justin Pullin said Thursday.
