Heat remains in Las Vegas Valley, but cool is on the way
Brace yourselves, Las Vegas, our time for fall is near.
By the end of the week, temperatures in the Las Vegas Valley will start to cool "rather substantially," National Weather Service meteorologist Chad Shafer said Tuesday morning.
But, until then, it's going to be more of the same.
The forecast high for Tuesday and Wednesday is 100 degrees, with low temperatures in the mid-70s.
On Monday, the temperature only got as low as 81 degrees, setting a record for the latest day of the year to never get below 80 degrees in Las Vegas, Shafer explained. The prior record was Sept. 25. The not-so-low temperature also broke the daily record of highest low temperature, which was 79 degrees, set in 2008.
The predicted "noticeable cooldown" beginning Friday will still see temperatures above average, Shafer said, reaching the high-80s and low-90s.
