Hot temps, wind will hang around Las Vegas for now
June 2, 2015 - 6:14 pm
Tuesday’s sunny skies and slight winds should stick around in the Las Vegas Valley on Wednesday, but the “gradual cool down” begins now.
Tuesday’s temperatures stayed in the low to mid-90s, with afternoon highs peaking about 94 degrees. South winds blew from 10 to 15 mph with gusts as high as 25 mph, making up for the sunny day, meteorologist Mike Paddock said.
Temperatures should drop in the evening to the upper 60s and lower 70s and the winds will calm down to just a breeze, he said.
Wednesday’s weather will look similar, with breezy conditions and high temps about 95 degrees, but a storm system is expected to approach the area on Thursday.
It’s still too early to tell when any rain activity will happen, but Paddock said Friday and Saturday are possible prospects.
Rain or shine, weekend temperatures will drop to below normal, keeping the valley in the upper 80s to lower 90s.
