The Las Vegas Valley this week could hit a triple-digit high for the first time in 2018, according to the National Weather Service.

Sunday’s high fell just short of the mark at 99 degrees.

Monday will cool off slightly to 98, but temperatures will rise Tuesday and Wednesday with forecast highs of 100 and 101, respectively.

Wednesday’s temperature could break the record high of 100, the weather service said, and winds could gust up to 25 mph that afternoon.

Temperatures will begin to cool off Thursday and Friday with forecast highs of 96 and 95, respectively. Winds on Friday could reach 15 mph.

Lows through Friday are expected to stay in the 70s. The normal high this time of year is 85, and the normal low is 63.

Skies will be mostly sunny through midweek. Some clouds could roll in Thursday and linger Friday, the Weather Service said.
