Typical summertime heat is here for now, but storms could cool things down
The Las Vegas Valley's usual summertime sunny skies and 100-degree-plus temperatures are around for now, but monsoon moisture could bring cooler weather later in the week.
Monday’s high peeked at 102 degrees with an 80-degree low, National Weather Service meteorologist Andrew Gorelow said.
Temperatures for the rest of the week will stay right within the 104 to 105 range, but the lows will start to creep upwards into the low to mid 80s, according to the weather service. And the monsoon moisture will start to increase by the end of the week, increasing the chances for precipitation.
Slight chances for thunderstorms are predicted for the weekend. But trying to pinpoint where the rain will fall and how much of it will land will be the tricky part.
