Wednesday should bring coolest temperatures Las Vegas has seen since April

The Las Vegas Valley is forecast to see the coolest high and low temperatures of the season today.

It should only reach 65 degrees in Las Vegas, and then dip to 49 degrees overnight — temperatures we haven't seen since April.

Those temperatures won't be the coldest for long, though, according to the National Weather Service.

Wednesday's high will reach only 57 degrees, and the low will be 46 degrees.

Expect cloudy skies and rain through Wednesday to accompany the chilly weather, NWS meteorologist Clay Morgan said Tuesday.

There's a 30 percent chance of rain today, and there are "better than even odds" that rain will fall Wednesday morning.

The anticipated precipitation could bring snow to the mountains.

A winter weather advisory has been issued for areas above 5,500 feet in the Spring and Sheep mountain ranges.
